MAET Technology Showcase
Below are some of the projects and coursework I've completed throughout the MAET program. My personal growth is evident when looking at the variety. It was a rewarding experience to look back and reflect on my accomplishments. Enjoy!

The titles below are links to actual projects. Feel free to explore!
VoiceThread Project
The purpose of this project was to educate fellow peers and colleagues about VoiceThread technology in relation to education. Several possibilities include online lectures for absent students, providing oral feedback, and creating digital stories. VoiceThread could also be used when working with younger students who are still learning to type and/or read.
Counting Coins WebQuest
I created this WebQuest for 1st grade students to explore adding various coin values. It provides a brief introduction, various tasks, and an evaluation. It also provides information for teachers and additional links for those students who need a challenge. The WebQuest also provides a rubric that is user-friendly and a "site story" to motivate young student learners.
Professional Website
Above is a link to my professional website that I created in Google Sites. I scanned in several of my professional documents, posted my resume and portfolio, and my personal philosophy statements. I used it when I was applying for jobs and provided it to parents once I got a job.
Online Course
This is an online course designed for second graders learning subtraction with regrouping. The site is designed to be used with current district curriculum during math workshop. Students explore various strategies presented in written steps, songs, and videos. After students can apply their knowledge to practice problems and receive feedback. Students reflect at the end of the unit by blogging with fellow classmates.
Telling Time
This project focuses on teaching students how to tell time to the hour and half hour. One of the strategies incorporated is the inductive strategy. The project provides several examples of various times and has the students analyze the similarities to form a conclusion. One of the strengths of the project is the oral, written, and visual components to address different learning styles. It also requires interaction for the learner and provides them with feedback. Extensions are provided at the end for students who would like additional practice or would like a challenge. This allows for differentiated instruction to meet the needs of many learners. The project offers visuals and movements to keep the learner interested and involved.
Wicked Problem Project
This project was created to present information about using iPods to increase reading fluency in 1st grade students. The iPods would deliver one on one modeling of fluent reading at any level. This would allow students yet another opportunity to hear fluent reading during Reading Workshop in addition to reading with the teacher, volunteers, and their peers. They would also have the opportunity to hear the book they are currently reading. That way they will be better prepared to model the pace, expression and speed when reading that same book on their own. If I incorporate the use of iPods, I could download books that students were currently reading or interested in. This would in turn increase their motivation. I could also incorporate books that I already have available in my classroom. This would also broaden my “listening library” and be more user-friendly.
Explore Google Documents
This presentation was meant for those hesitant to use new technology. We explored the many similarities between Google docs and Microsoft Word. The benefits were also highlighted to encourage new users. Google Docs is free and enables multiple people in different locations to collaborate simultaneously on the same doc from any computer with internet access.
